By Joel Cheesman - I’ve been bullish on Twitter since last year when it became the No. 6 driver of traffic to this site. And I haven’t wavered. Today, it’s the No. 2 driver of referral traffic to Cheezhead. In its evolution, however, the site has gone from microblogging platform to a real-time search engine and, in a growing number of cases, the backbone of entirely new businesses. Start-ups of real promise developing an almost foreign language of hashes and at-signs. I can’t declare complete understanding, but winds of change are blowing. Most notably among the uses of Twitter in our space is Splits.org.

By Vanessa Dennis - Allan Sabol, CEO of Dayak.com, says that people prefer his site over rival BountyJobs because of the larger network of recruiters, lower fees, and greater variety of jobs, including everything from entry-level dry-wallers and college students to CFOs and sales directors. "Dayak is quickly taking overtaking BountyJobs because of our unique business model," Sabol said, "We are opening up an entirely new recruiting market for lower level positions that was previously not served by the recruiting industry. Because of free-market economics, if an employer posts a reasonable fee, they will find recruiters who are willing to fill that position."
