By Vanessa Dennis - Jobvite, provider of next-generation recruitment solutions, has completed Series B financing totaling $8.25 million. The round was led by ATA Ventures, a new investor. According to a press release, CMEA Capital, who led Jobvite’s Series A financing, also participated in this round. Jobvite secured $7.2 million in Series A funding in 2007 from CMEA Capital, bringing its total funding to date to $15.45 million.

From a July article entitled “Great Wall of Facebook: The Social Network’s Plan to Dominate the Internet — and Keep Google Out“: "Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg envisions a more personalized, humanized Web, where our network of friends, colleagues, peers, and family is our primary source of information, just as it is offline. In Zuckerberg’s vision, users will query this “social graph” to find a doctor, the best camera, or someone to hire—rather than tapping the cold mathematics of a Google search ..." The power of Facebook as a search engine is undeniable and is likely at the heart of how the company will find its way to the pot o’ gold at the end of the rainbow. But until recently, we weren’t really sure what this new search might look like.

By Vanessa Dennis - A new survey from Jobvite, a provider of next-generation recruitment solutions, shows what many experts may have already predicted: that companies are choosing to invest more money and time in social networks and employee referrals over job boards and search firms. The survey also shows that many companies are not listening to legal experts who caution against using social networks for candidate research. In fact, 24 percent of candidates actually disclose their social networking presence during the interview process.
