By Joel Cheesman - Giveaways used to be a staple of the Web. Anyone else remember iWon’s million dollar giveaway? They’ve since subsided. I, for one, hope they come back. Maybe VisualCV's new music giveaway via Amazon is a start. Burn rate, baby. Burn rate!

By Joel Cheesman - Over the last month or so, we’ve been gradually adding top-notch publishers and advertisers. All sites are employment-related. Site owners add our code to their site and go on with their lives. Most noticeably, I won't be the only author. We've hired a little help (more on that later). That may be a tough pill for some to swallow, but the fact is I simply can't keep up with all the news that should be reported and all the commentary that should be made. And besides, my brain's kinda empty after 3 years.

One job board owner has dubbed a recent marketing effort by Jobfox as “sleazy as hell.” Here’s what went down: Every job site I know of has an online application process. This isn’t news. Job seekers click on Apply Here and submit their resume. For competing sites, however, this option opens the door to get in [...]
