By Susan Burns - The use of video for recruitment is nothing new. It may not be widely used yet but its nothing new – in 1999 while at Macy’s Inc. we launched our first college recruitment site with 20+ executive video interviews. Even the use of video for candidate interviews is not really new – several years ago video-conference style interviewing was trying to emerge. It never happened, due to many of the same questions that remain today around the use of video resumes.

By Vanessa Dennis - ChicagoJobs.com, in partnership with Shaker Recruitment Advertising and Communications, held its second virtual job fair September 16. Fifteen employers attended, including Allstate, Quill Corporation, and Kellogg, and over 2,500 job seekers registered for the event. Gone were the banner-decked booths littered with company schwag. Instead, digital representations of the employee stations were rendered in a virtual world complete with colorful avatars who wandered around networking chat rooms seeking advice and leads on job opportunities.
