By Joel Cheesman - On the heels of Trovix being gobbled up by Monster for a mindboggling $72.5 million, why isn't anyone buying up the vertical job search engines? Surprise! It's not the most traffic that wins. It's the most money (or at least the expectation of driving the most money) that wins. And chances are, the vertical job search engine industry simply isn't attractive enough to prospective buyers.

Well, they just got a whole lot dumber'er with the most recent acquisition of snake oil candidate matching technology and vertical job search engine Trovix for $72.5 million. According to Monster CEO Sal Soprano Iannuzzi, "This is an unrivaled and unique technology, and it underscores Monster's commitment to investing significant resources to enhance our overall technology platform. "Trovix's superior match technology complements nicely our ongoing investments in product, sales and customer service, as well as the extension of our business into new areas and geographies. This is truly a game-changing development." Game-changing, huh? Doubtful.
