The Value of Networks |

A fun story by Amybeth Hale on the value of networks can be read on Jim Stroud’s blog. The other cool part about how this all came together is the value the recruiter, Nikole Hunt, played in ensuring Waggener Edstrom was able to bring in great talent. Nikole had the depth of understanding around the business need/problem and was creative in her thinking. She was able to effectively present Amybeth as an awesome candidate and position how to evolve the role in order to leverage the skills Amybeth would bring to the company. That to me is a great recruiter! In the current talent market and anticipated talent shortages its those recruiters who think beyond the standard parameters and bring in the best talent that will add the most value.

I recently met a recruiter, Jon Meredith of American Recruiters here in Miami. After talking for some time, I gave him my resume. At the time, my resume was one page and people had a hard time following it. Jon made the suggestion of redoing the resume by providing more details of each position held. I have met many other recruiters before, and none of them played the role of career counselor like Jon did. This is another example of a great recruiter!
