Those Google guys have been busy! They’ve been all over the news today with mobile deals and additional dialogue about their social networking alliance . And their driving revenue too! Embedded in an IAC/InterActive Corp announcement was another indication of the value of the online marketplace.
“IAC also announced Monday it struck a five-year approximately $3.5 billion deal with Google Inc., giving the Internet giant the right to sell ads on Ask.com and other IAC Web properties. The deal follows an intense year long negotiation in which Google competed with both Microsoft Corp. and Yahoo Inc. for the right to sell ads on Ask, which accounts for about 5% of Internet searches.” Source: WSJ
